About My Faith in THE Faith...
Salvation

THE NARROW ROAD--SALVATION AS FOUND IN THE SCRIPTURES

The Bible Tells Us We Need to HEAR

The Story of Christ.

  • How He came and walked this earth in sinless perfection
  • How He was crucified on the cross as a sinless, perfect sacrifice for our sins
  • How He was buried
  • How He was resurrected on the third day and now resides on the right hand of the Almighty

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

The truth sets us free. (John 8:32)  We can’t be set free if we’ve never heard the truth.

Now, this may sound obvious but there are so many who profess salvation and have actually never heard the truth as found in the scriptures.

This also refutes the notion of infant baptism.  Babies don't understand the truth.

The Bible Tells Us We Need to BELIEVE

The Awesome News of Christ.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:16)

The Bible Tells Us That We Need to REPENT--That is to Have

Change of Heart; A Turning Away From Our Sins.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3)

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)

The Bible Tells Us That We Need to CONFESS Christ.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32)

This is not a confession of all of our past sins.  This is a confession that Christ is who He says He is—the son of the living God.  This is the confession upon which He builds His church.  (Matthew 16:15-18)

If we are willing to publically confess His lordship, we will more likely allow Him to be LORD of our life and walk in obedience to His teachings.

The Bible Tells Us That We Need to Go Down in the Watery

Grave of BAPTISM in Order to Rise Up

A New Creature in Christ.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:16)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:3-6)

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:26-27)

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; (Colossians 2:11-13)

EXAMPLES

The book of Acts gives key information and examples of souls converted to Christ.

Please reference:

Acts 2:14-47

Acts 8:12-16

Acts 8:35-39

Acts 10:1-48

Acts 16:13-15

Acts 16:27-34

Acts 18:8

Acts 22:16 (Acts 9:17-18)

These people obeyed the teachings of the apostles. (Acts 2:42)--which were actually the teachings of the Holy Spirit, which were actually the teachings of Christ. (John 14:26, John 16:13-14)

Consequently, these obedient people were added to the one true church (body). (Acts 2:47Eph. 4:4, Col. 1:18)

  • The church that Christ built. (Matthew 16:16-19)
  • The church that obeys His teachings. (2 John 9)
  • The church that only He adds to. (Acts 2:47)
  • The only church He will save.(Hebrews 5:9)

The Bible Tells Us We Need to LIVE FAITHFULLY

Biblically, there is no such thing as ‘once saved always saved’.

Once we humbly obey the commandments to get us into Christ, we must continue to live faithfully, because the church that Christ died for will be judged with a greater judgment.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:20-22)

This is the narrow way as found in the scriptures.  It leads to everlasting life.  Any other path will lead to a dead end.
